CFFC: {Birds of a Feather}

This is my entry for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge. This week the theme is {Birds}

Kookaburras at Clear Mountain, Queensland
Galah at Blackmans Bay, Tasmania
Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, Huon Valley ~ Tasmania

I just can’t do a bird post without mentioning our Plover family….this is the 7th year they have had a nest near our house and the first year that 3 chicks have left the nest together. Generally people are not fond of Plovers as they are prone to dive bombing anybody or anything that threatens their young. Our Plover residents are very used to us now and never show any aggression.

can you see the 3 little Plover chicks?
they are so darn cute but also very quick…..photographing them can be a challenge

and talking of chicks…..like I said in my previous post, I have been MIA for the last two months preparing for my son’s wedding…it suddenly struck me that I would like to stitch a wedding sampler to commemorate the special day…no small feat, I’m telling you. Cross stitching a sampler is not something you do in a day….or a week and I was warned there would be a 4 week waiting period at the framers. Luckily, I found a framer who measured my unfinished work, discussed framing options and tucked me into the queue (a turn around of 1 week) and I got it done and framed…..just in time!
